About

Healthcare decisions are increasingly being made today with evidence from scientific research studies — evidence-based research — rather than relying on expert opinion or clinical experience alone. Indeed, today’s paradigm is science-based medicine, replacing the traditional medical paradigm based on authority.

The Internet offers widespread access to health information. While much of the information is valuable, the internet also allows rapid and widespread distribution of false and misleading information.

What you can expect of Highlight HEALTH
If you’re like me, you don’t have time to sift through 3 — 4 posts a day or 20+ articles a week from one website. On Highlight HEALTH, you can expect 1 — 3 well thought-out articles every week that are intelligent and engaging.

I try not to duplicate topics on other sites, so you should always find unique content on Highlight HEALTH. Every article published will provide source documentation and links to scientific abstracts and research papers (when openly available).

The Highlight HEALTH community
Highlight HEALTH is a community of health-minded individuals who value science-based research. I hope readers will participate in this community by commenting on articles and interacting with other commentators. Bookmark, share on Facebook or Stumble your favorite posts to help spread the word. Feel free to email me comments, suggestions or ideas. Together, we can discuss biomedical science and evaluate science-based research.
