I wasn't familiar with the HONcode, I've bookmarked that site from you and will have to check that out further. I still am fairly new to all this, not even a year on yet.

I know of no other blogging communities using a code of any kind. I was always careful who I chose to put on my blog roll. I would only put people on it that were respectful to their visitors and seemed to be the kind of people that had heart. Nice to come upon your site Walter. Best to you.

I agree Angel.

Shinga and Clark bring up some pertinent issues in their comments over on Unintelligent Design, namely lack of enforcement. I've read the same criticisms with the HONcode. However, HON maintains that they "run a policing system with proven effectiveness" (see Point #3).

I think it was Val that mentioned somewhere that we should only link to and blogroll other blogs that follow the code. Given that type of community involvement, I think we all will be "enforcing" the code. It may not be perfect, but it's better than nothing. Are any other blogger communities actively using a community derived code of ethics?

I think anyone that can get through any kind of medical training and is familiar with HIPPA is smart enough to alter certain things where there is no violation what-so-ever, but is still is a true and accurate account somewhere in their experience.....;)
