Highlight HEALTH will be hosting the next edition of MedLib’s Round, edition 2.7, on Tuesday, August 10th. As host, I invite you to send your submissions.
Here at Highlight HEALTH, we promote advances in biomedical research to encourage health literacy. To assist in that promotion, we have a page on Facebook (fan us!) and a presence on both Twitter (@HighlightHEALTH) and FriendFeed (HighlightHEALTH). However, from a strategy standpoint, there’s much more that can be done with social media. Like what? You tell us!
The theme for this month’s edition of MedLib’s Round is “Leveraging social media to promote health information online”.
What is MedLib’s Round?
MedLib’s Round is a monthly blog carnival of “excellent blog posts in the field of medical information”. Anyone can submit an article as long as it is relevant and of good quality. If you have an article on evidence-based medicine, information literacy, medical librarianship, PubMed or Web 2.0 tools, submit your article here or send it to me using the website contact form.
Priority will be given to those posts that focus on leveraging social media to promote health information online.
Please submit your article no later than Sunday, August 8th at 04:00:00 UTC (12:00pm CST).
Receive e-mail notification when MedLibs Round 2.7 is published.
Previous editions of MedLibs Round are listed at the MedLibs Round Archive.

Three years and going strong!
This month, Highlight HEALTH celebrates its third year promoting advances in biomedical research to encourage health literacy. We’re also excited to introduce the NIH Newsbot, which will help us to keep you up-to-date with the latest research news from the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
The Highlight HEALTH Network consists of three web sites:
Each of these sites has a different purpose. Here at Highlight HEALTH, we focus on evidence-based biomedical research to educate readers and empower patients (if you’re interested in contributing, please let us know). Highlight HEALTH 2.0, a group effort, follows the use of Web 2.0 in health and medicine. Lastly, the Highlight HEALTH Web Directory is an online reference guide for reliable health and medical information.
There are a number of ways to connect with the Highlight HEALTH Network, including email or RSS feed, Twitter, FriendFeed and Facebook. If you have an internet-enabled cell phone, Highlight HEALTH can also be accessed via the mobile web.
